Govt to Start “Unemployment Allowance” for Unemployed Youth
Lahore: Govt. of Punjab is going to start the ‘unemployment allowance’ scheme for unemployed youth in Punjab. Youth who hold Masters degree but haven’t got any job after two years of their passing out will be given a monthly allowance of Rs. 15000 by the Govt. Punjab Finance Minister had announced about this scheme in Budget 2015.
As per sources, people who are doing any job in private sector , even though temporary, will not be included in the scheme. To make the process transparent and smooth, the beneficiaries of the unemployment will have to submit an affidavit that they are really jobless and if proven otherwise, their allowance will be reversed and they will be declared ineligible for any Govt job in future.
Once the scheme is announced, willing people will have to apply for it. Verification process of their eligibility for unemployment scheme will be completed in due period. As per reports, special payment cards will be issued to selected beneficiaries and they will be able to withdraw the funds each month from specific banks/ If a beneficiary gets a job in any public/private sector, he/she will have to give up the unemployment allowance.
