Job Purpose

To ensure plant operations run smoothly by building and maintaining effective employee relations which includes relations NFL direct hires, contractors, 3rd party employees whilst ensuring adherence to all relevant employment laws

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the monthly achievement of Industrial Relations (IR) targets at per the designated plant
  • Monitor daily IR functions such as hiring, separation, retention, medical screening, induction training and grievance management.
  • Coordinate with the payroll consultant on all payroll-related matters to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation.
  • Effective participation in respect to policy drafting of the Plants and ensure the implementation of policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and company values.
  • Share data with the PR officer for initiation of Purchase requisition related to wages and other IR expenses.
  • Create Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) post coordination with procurement department for PO.
  • Coordination with the IT consultant for all HRIS related queries and updating.
  • Coordination with the all the stake holders including procurement, finance for smoothly operations via different forums such as DDS etc.
  • Effective coordination with financial controller for reconciliation of monthly head count and payroll and providing monthly provisions and Ops reports.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all applicable labour laws, including the upkeep of necessary records, submissions, and registers
  • Engage actively with government agencies such as Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (SESSI), and the Labour Directorate, ensuring good relations and compliance
  • Maintain open channels of communication where non-managerial staff can provide feedback, suggestions, or grievances
  • Provide advice on worker engagement and utilise feedback sessions to gain insights and tailor engagement programs for non-managerial staff.
  • Initiate engagement activities focusing on the welfare and development of all 3rd party to improve satisfaction and productivity
  • Monitor the distribution of uniforms, accessories, and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for workers at the plant
  • Regularly review and report on the effectiveness of engagement and welfare initiatives by tracking metrics such as employee turnover, absenteeism rates, and feedback. Report these findings to the HOIR to refine strategies
  • Keep abreast on the latest developments in industrial relations and labour law for updating to the HOIR.
  • Initial screening of WPPF working received from WPPF consultant, ensure completion of all the documentation of WPPF as per the past practises after coordination with labour contractors.
  • Effective Control all the 3P workers records and discipline located at plants, regional branch/ offices, head office etc
  • Maintain staff morale and monitor employee complaints and counseling.
  • Managing seasonal activities at Plant with coordination of department and procurement team along with necessary requirement such as medical screening, Uniforms and Safety shoes etc.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with 4-6 years of experience, Law graduate would be given preference
  • Post graduate degree/diploma in employment law or any other related specialized certification will be given preference

  • Excellent computer and communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills in government dept, Labor, SESSI/PESSI/Welfare, EOBI etc.
  • Reporting and Analysis
  • Process Improvement

Technical Competences

  • Excellent knowledge on Labor laws
  • Compliance of EOBI & SESSI
  • Advance knowledge on Inquiry proceedings
