Role Overview

The Assistant Director of Human Resources will lead PalmPay Pakistan HR function by driving strategic people initiatives, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and building a high-performing organizational culture. This role is responsible for overseeing all HR operations, talent management, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and HR compliance while partnering closely with business leaders to support the company's rapid growth.

The ideal candidate is a mature HR leader with excellent stakeholder management skills, strong business acumen, and proven experience leading HR in a fast-paced multinational or fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall HR strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Lead and develop the HR team to deliver high-quality HR services across the organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Foster strong collaboration across departments to improve communication, operational efficiency, and organizational alignment.
  • Partner with business leaders to support strategic initiatives and resolve cross-functional challenges.
  • Drive organization-wide HR programs that support business growth and employee engagement.

Employee Relations & Organizational Culture

  • Lead employee relations initiatives to maintain a positive, productive, and compliant workplace.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, workplace conflicts, disciplinary issues, and grievance resolution.
  • Promote a healthy organizational culture that reflects the company's values and encourages employee engagement.

Performance & Talent Management

  • Oversee performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and employee development programs.
  • Ensure effective implementation of performance review processes and talent development initiatives.
  • Support managers in coaching, performance improvement, and team effectiveness.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR policies, procedures, compensation administration, and HR operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Pakistan Labour Law and all applicable employment regulations.
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide strategic insights to support business decisions.

Change Management & Organizational Development

  • Lead organizational change initiatives and support business transformation projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and employee experience.
  • Champion initiatives that strengthen leadership capability and organizational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Master's degree (MBA/HRM) is highly preferred.
  • Professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CIPD, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) are an advantage.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, financial services or multinational organizations is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading HR strategy, employee relations, organizational development, and performance management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong employee relations and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Deep understanding of Pakistan Labour Law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and execution ability.
  • High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Fluent in English and Urdu, both written and spoken.
