Job Summary
We are looking for an Assistant Manager Production for the non-penicillin packaging area to oversee day-to-day blistering, filling and packing operations in a fast-paced, GMP-compliant environment. The role focuses on safe, compliant and efficient execution of packaging activities, effective coordination with cross-functional teams and strong control of documentation and systems. Experience in pharmaceutical packaging operations is preferred.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager Production for the non-penicillin packaging area to oversee day-to-day blistering, filling and packing operations in a fast-paced, GMP-compliant environment. The role focuses on safe, compliant and efficient execution of packaging activities, effective coordination with cross-functional teams and strong control of documentation and systems. Experience in pharmaceutical packaging operations is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Discuss daily planning and work schedules with the Department Head to align operations and resources.
- Supervise blistering, filling and packing operations within the Production Department, ensuring adherence to GMP, safety and quality standards.
- Execute production activities as per the schedule received from Planning, ensuring timely completion of batches.
- Manage packing documentation, including preparation, checking, reconciliation and timely delivery of batch records.
- Maintain SAP postings for inventory transactions and labor hour distribution in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinate with Engineering for preventive and breakdown maintenance of packing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with QMS standards and guidelines within the department.
- Provide in-house training on SOPs and BPRs to relevant staff to support continuous compliance and improvement.
- Maintain all relevant packing section records in line with regulatory and internal standards.
- Support cross-functional departments (e.g. Quality, Engineering, Planning, Warehouse) and maintain strong working relationships to achieve overall site goals.
- Pharm-D or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Biotech).
- Experience in pharmaceutical packaging / production operations is preferred, ideally in a non-penicillin environment.
- Familiarity with GMP, QMS, SAP or similar ERP systems and production documentation.
- Strong understanding of production/packaging processes and compliance requirements.
- Good planning and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple batches and priorities.
- Attention to detail in documentation, reconciliation and system postings.
- Ability to lead and supervise shop-floor teams and provide effective on-the-job training.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
