Assistant Technologist - Pipeline Maintenance

PARCO is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Technologist - Pipeline Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review maintenance and repair requisitions, ensuring optimal resource allocation and timely mobilization of field teams.
• Plan and execute routine inspections of pipeline systems, compile and present detailed inspection reports to management.
• Lead operations during emergency repairs on high-pressure pipeline systems.
• Prepare materials and equipment for sleeve fabrication and associated pipeline welding tasks.
• Supervise on-site welding of sleeves in accordance with ILI-recommended dig point data and defect identification.
• Oversee maintenance of off-road earthmoving equipment and mobile cranes; ensure adherence to periodic servicing schedules.
• Monitor and report progress of ongoing repair and maintenance activities; maintain accurate records for audit and compliance.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs for pipelines, valve assemblies, and structural assets at MW and CP locations.
• Prepare procurement lists for tools and materials, facilitating both local and international sourcing as per project requirements.
  
  

Qualification

• DAE Mechanical.
  
  

Experience

• Up to 12 years of progressive experience in mechanical repair and maintenance within cross-country high-pressure pipeline infrastructure.
• Adept in pipeline welding operations, including sleeve welding activities in live high-pressure environments.
• Well-versed in pipeline cleaning operations using various types of pipeline inspection gauges (PIGs). Extensive knowledge of various Inline Inspection (ILI) pigging techniques.
• Experienced in verifying dig points and identifying sleeve weld defects based on Inline Inspection (ILI) recommendations.
• Proven ability to effectively manage and respond to emergency situations in cross-country high-pressure pipelines.
• Knowledge of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems and their role in pipeline integrity management.
