Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to design and architect enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data modernization, cloud migration, data lakes, data warehousing, analytics, and governance, with the ability to lead large-scale data transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, secure, and cloud-native data architectures on Azure.
Architect end-to-end data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Data Lake, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
Lead data modernization, migration, and analytics transformation programs.
Design batch and real-time data ingestion, ETL/ELT, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse solutions.
Establish data governance, security, metadata management, and compliance frameworks.
Enable advanced analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and GenAI use cases.
Provide technical leadership, conduct architecture reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable solutions.

Required Skills

10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Cloud Data Platforms.
Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Event Hub, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and Lakehouse architecture.
Experience with Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Real-Time Data Processing, and CDC architectures.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code.
Strong understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and Microsoft Purview.
Experience building analytics solutions using Power BI.

Good to Have

Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Scala, and Tableau experience.
Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and Lakehouse architectures.
Experience with Azure OpenAI, GenAI, and AI/ML solutions.
Multi-cloud exposure (AWS/GCP).

Preferred Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
TOGAF Certification (Preferred)
