Position: Business Analyst – DevOps

Job Function: Analyst

Position Summary
Business Analyst supporting Finance & Accounting initiatives. Responsible for requirements, process documentation, and data analysis to enable reporting, reconciliation, and system improvements.
This role requires strong BA fundamentals plus advanced SQL and Excel skills. Works closely with Finance and IT teams to ensure accurate, timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis (Core)

• Gather and document business and functional requirements
  
• Write user stories and acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps
  
• Break down complex processes into actionable work items
  
• Document workflows and ensure requirements are clear and testable
  
• Partner with stakeholders to validate solutions
  

Data & Finance

• Perform data analysis using SQL and Excel
  
• Support financial reporting, reconciliation, and data validation
  
• Identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities
  
• Support GL, AP/AR, and reporting processes
  

Delivery

• Support Agile delivery (backlog, sprints, UAT)
  
• Investigate and resolve data/system issues
  
• Support Finance-related tickets and reporting requests
  

Business Analysis (Required)

• Requirements gathering and documentation
  
• Process mapping and workflow analysis
  
• Strong stakeholder communication
  
• Ability to produce clear, testable requirements
  

Data Skills (Required)

• Advanced SQL (queries, joins, data validation) in SQL Server
  
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, analysis)
  
• Strong data analysis skills
  

Finance Knowledge

• Working knowledge of GL, AP/AR, and financial reporting
  

General

• Detail-oriented, organized, and responsive
  
• Experience with Agile / Azure DevOps
  
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

Experience Requirements

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst (required)
  
• Experience with SQL and Excel (required)
  
• Experience supporting Finance/Accounting or financial data (required)
  
• Must work aligned to CST hours (until 12 PM CST)
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  
• Advanced SQL skills with experience working on large-scale, complex data sets in insurance data environments (e.g., policy, claims, rating data).
  
• Actively communicate to internal/external/stakeholders/customers quality issues about the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used
  
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.
