Chief Growth Officer (CGO)
Taleemabad
About Taleemabad
What if every child, regardless of their background or location, had access to a world-class education?
That question sparked Taleemabad's journey over a decade ago.
From delivering curriculum-aligned educational content on national television to reaching 1.5 million smartphones and transforming classroom learning, Taleemabad has grown into an education organisation operating across six countries and impacting over two million students.
Now, we're preparing for our next chapter: expanding from 2 districts to 20 and strengthening our presence across Pakistan, the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
To make this possible, we're looking for a Chief Growth Officer who can turn ambitious opportunities into sustainable revenue, strategic partnerships, and long-term impact.
About the Role
As Chief Growth Officer, you will lead Taleemabad's revenue generation, fundraising, strategic partnerships, and financial governance across Pakistan and international markets.
This is a leadership role for someone who understands that meaningful growth requires more than securing funding. It demands strong relationships, financial discipline, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex environments.
You will work closely with the CEO, Board, and Executive Leadership Team to build the financial and commercial foundations that enable Taleemabad to scale its mission.
Key Responsibilities
1. Government Revenue & Strategic Engagement
- Lead the acquisition and execution of multi-year government contracts across Pakistan's provinces.
- Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders, including education departments, ministers, planning commissions, and curriculum boards.
- Identify and pursue government partnerships across MENA, Africa, and emerging international markets.
- Navigate public-sector procurement processes, regulatory environments, and complex stakeholder relationships.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Growth
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of commercial and strategic partnerships.
- Build relationships with private school networks, telecommunications companies, device manufacturers, and EdTech platforms.
- Design sustainable commercial models, including licensing, revenue-sharing, white-label solutions, and co-delivery partnerships.
- Represent Taleemabad at international education summits, development-finance forums, and global networking platforms.
3. Fundraising & Capital Mobilisation
- Own the end-to-end fundraising strategy, from identifying opportunities to securing agreements.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with bilateral donors, philanthropic foundations, development institutions, and impact investors.
- Lead fundraising proposals, due diligence processes, grant negotiations, and reporting.
- Develop compelling investment and funding narratives that communicate Taleemabad's impact and growth potential.
4. Financial Leadership & Governance
- Provide strategic oversight of the Finance function across all operating geographies.
- Establish strong financial governance, accountability, and compliance standards.
- Ensure financial reporting provides actionable insights to the Board and Executive Leadership Team.
- Oversee audit readiness, donor compliance, and financial integrity across contracts and grants.
- Align financial planning with organisational growth and long-term sustainability.
5. Executive Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to shape Taleemabad's growth strategy.
- Lead teams through uncertainty while maintaining clarity, accountability, and optimism.
- Strengthen cross-functional collaboration between Growth, Fundraising, Partnerships, and Finance.
- Build a high-trust, performance-oriented environment that encourages ownership and innovation.
What we are looking for
Experience & Technical Expertise
- 10+ years of experience in revenue generation, fundraising, business development, or capital raising.
- At least 3 years of experience in a senior leadership position.
- Demonstrated success in securing large-scale government contracts, institutional grants, or commercial partnerships.
- Experience operating across multiple geographies, preferably South Asia, MENA, or Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Strong understanding of financial governance, donor compliance, audits, and strategic financial management.
- Ability to negotiate complex agreements and manage senior-level stakeholder relationships.
Leadership & Personal Attributes
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate ambitious goals into executable plans.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, bureaucracy, and high-pressure situations.
- Resilient, optimistic, and solution-oriented.
- Collaborative leader who thrives in lean, fast-moving organisational structures.
- Deeply motivated by the opportunity to improve education outcomes at scale.
The Challenges You'll Help Solve
This role isn't about maintaining an existing pipeline. It's about creating opportunities where others might see obstacles.
You may find yourself navigating delayed government payments, rebuilding donor confidence in a critical funding cycle, or reviving an international partnership that appears to have stalled.
You'll need to balance immediate financial priorities with long-term strategic relationships, while keeping your teams focused on the bigger mission.
If complex challenges energise you, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives.
- Direct engagement with the CEO and Board.
- Executive-level ownership of a high-impact growth portfolio.
- International exposure across six or more countries.
- A collaborative, high-trust Executive Leadership Team.
- The opportunity to directly influence education outcomes for millions of children.
