Computer Systems Architect (ARM-Based SBC)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Computer/Electrical Engineer to design and validate the system architecture of a custom ARM-based Single-Board Computer (SBC). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ARM application processors, peripheral integration, memory architecture, and hardware-software integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the overall system architecture, hardware block diagrams, and component interconnection strategy for an ARMbased SBC.
• Evaluate and select suitable ARM application processors/SoCs based on performance, peripheral availability, power consumption, and software support.
• Define peripheral allocation and pin mapping, determining how external components connect to the processor through I²C, SPI, UART, GPIO, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, and other interfaces.
• Design the memory and storage architecture, including DDR/LPDDR RAM, eMMC, SPI flash, and NVMe where applicable.
• Define integration requirements for sensors, RTCs, clock sources, PMICs, networking components, and expansion modules.
• Perform pre-design feasibility analysis to verify SoC, memory, peripheral, and external device compatibility, including interface, and software support.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
• Strong experience in computer architecture and ARM application-processor-based digital system design.
• Knowledge of SoC architecture, peripheral controllers, pin multiplexing, and processor datasheets.
• Experience with DDR-family/LPDDR memory integration, storage interfaces, power management, clocking, and boot architecture.
• Strong understanding of communication interfaces, including USB, PCIe, CAN and Ethernet.
• Experienced with embedded Linux, U-Boot, device trees, and Board Support Packages (BSPs).
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Previous development of custom ARM-based SBCs, Linux computing platforms, or industrial embedded computers.
• Experience with NXP i.MX, Rockchip, TI Sitara, or similar application processors.
