Construction Estimator - Site Development

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our pre-construction team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for site development and civil construction projects, including excavation, earthwork, underground utilities, retaining walls, paving, concrete, and soil remediation.

The successful candidate will review project plans, specifications, and bid documents, perform detailed quantity takeoffs, obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing, and prepare complete bid proposals

Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, bid packages, and contract documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and estimates for civil and site development work, including Earthwork and excavation, Site grading, Underground utility systems (storm, sanitary, water), Concrete work, Asphalt paving, Retaining wall systems, Soil remediation, Demolition, Site restoration and landscaping
• Develop comprehensive project cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, overhead, and profit.
• Analyze project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and constructability concerns during the estimating process.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and competitive bid estimates at various stages of project development.
• Solicit quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
• Review and compare quotations to ensure scope completeness and pricing competitiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing where appropriate to improve bid competitiveness.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings without compromising project quality.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of construction estimating experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, Procore or similar platforms is preferred
• Experience estimating Earthwork and excavation, Site grading, Underground utility systems (storm, sanitary, water), Concrete work, Asphalt paving, Retaining wall systems, Soil remediation, Demolition, Site restoration and landscaping.
• Excellent quantity takeoff and blueprint reading skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bid opportunities and meet strict submission deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
