Details

Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is one of Germany’s largest private organizations in development cooperation and humanitarian aid, dedicated to achieving “Zero Hunger on a Healthy Planet.” The Country Director is responsible for developing and managing an impactful country program that contributes to Pakistan’s development in alignment with WHH’s global strategy (2025–2030). This leadership position oversees program strategy, financial management, team leadership, donor relations, and organizational representation in Pakistan.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and adaptation of the country strategy.
• Ensure sound financial management and transparent use of allocated funds.
• Acquire and diversify funding from institutional and private donors.
• Establish and manage country structures in line with WHH policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Manage expatriate and national staff while ensuring adherence to security regulations.
• Position WHH as a key partner within national and international development and humanitarian contexts.
• Maintain regular communication with WHH Head Office (Bonn) and other country offices.
• Monitor and report on political, economic, and humanitarian trends in Pakistan.
• Maintain and update disaster preparedness and crisis management plans.
  
  

Requirements

• University degree in International Development, Humanitarian Aid, Management, Geography, Agricultural Sciences, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of project management and leadership experience in international development or humanitarian cooperation, preferably in the region.
• Strong HR management, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities with cultural sensitivity.
• Proven experience in security and crisis management.
• Demonstrated experience in localization and partnership development with local actors.
• Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and use of data visualization tools.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Readiness for international travel and required vaccinations.
