Purpose
This position manages, assists and controls the maintenance of boilers and its auxiliaries to ensure the availability of boiler for uninterrupted power production. Major responsibilities are maintenance of equipment’s; Planning, supervision and execution of forced and planned outages; Preparation of SOP’s for equipment maintenance; Introduction of improved and economic methods in maintenance procedures; Record keeping of maintenance activities; Preparation of annual departmental budget; Spares management ; To manage and assist maintenance staff. These responsibilities are carried out with the objective to achieve and enhance operational efficiency of boiler and water treatment plant with assistance of maintenance staff and in compliance of BQPS-I safety rules and best industrial practices.

Area Of Responsibilities
1 Maintenance of Boiler and its auxiliaries
- Maintenance and serviceability of boiler and its auxiliaries; all pumps and mechanical accessories installed in water treatment plant ; all pumps and accessories installed in HFO day tank
- Execution of routine and outage maintenance activities in coordination with operation and concerned departments
- Provide expertise in maintenance issues to staff in consolation with manager boiler
- Compliance and enhancement of SOP’s for maintenance of equipment
- Ensure timely completion of all maintenance jobs in order to avoid outruns of equipment
- Maintaining history of all maintenance activities for better and improved understanding of equipment maintenance i.e. Monthly reports, SAP reports, etc
- To create a safe work environment by actively identifying risks & taking the required safety measures resulting Zero LTI
- Compliance of permit to work system for all employees and contractors
- To prepare plans for preventive and corrective maintenance with available manpower for safely execution and timely completion of jobs and availability of equipment maintaining minimum out runs
- Spares management ; Monitors the consumption of spares in order to meet any emergency need
- Preparation of annual budget with assistance of Manger boiler in order to achieve maintenance needs including routine and planned maintenance jobs
- Timely preparation of required PR’s and continuous follow up with concerned departments till delivery of material at plant in collaboration with Manager boiler
- To work jointly with the maintenance staff on field and bring the right people for the right job
- Handles administrative issues including attendance and leave management. Provide guidance to staff as and when required
- Creates a conducive working environment to build and sustain an engaged and combine team
- Maintaining discipline by ensuring punctuality and observance of the rules
- Outlines training needs for maintenance staff
