Derrickman

Derrickman required on contract bases for 12 months

Qualification and Experience

Matric (Preferred)

Minimum 7 Years overall Field Experience at oil and gas drilling rig.

Minimum 02 Years as Derrickman.

Responsibilities

Must apply COMPANY safety regulations

3.2. Must report to the Driller for all the potential hazards especially when working in the mast.

3.3. Participates in safety meetings, drills, safety training and safety observation programs.

3.4. Familiarizes himself with the Group Safety Policy and takes all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of himself and persons likely to be affected by their acts or omissions as required under Health & Safety at work.

3.5. Make use of the relevant Safety Observation System e.g., STOP, PTW and takes immediate action to contain, eliminate or guard against actual and potential hazards to health, plant, equipment, and the environment, which come to their attention during their work.

3.6. In the event of an incident/accident, ensures all steps are taken to make the area secure for investigation and informs the Senior immediately.

Brings to the immediate notice of their supervisor actual and potential hazards to safety, health, plant, and equipment, which come to their attention in the course of their work.

3.8. Follows and implements Permit-to-Work system and other site-specific Safety and Procedures Manuals.

3.9. Carries out planned Safety inspections when required.

3.10. Ensures that all work is carried out to the requirements of the Permit-to-work system and in compliance with Safety Procedures in force, initiates PTW as necessary within their discipline and ensures all safety precautions are carried out.
