Ghulam Faruque Group is seeking a skilled Service Technician specializing in Genset maintenance to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical and electrical disciplines, demonstrated through a Diploma of Associate Engineering in Mechanical or Electrical fields. With 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in diesel generator maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, the technician will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of generator sets. The technician does not manage a team but works collaboratively with other experts to solve mechanical and electrical issues on-site.

The Service Technician focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical repairs and precise generator set testing using established techniques. Candidates must exhibit a thorough understanding of diesel engines, mechanical repair methods, and generator system diagnostics. The role demands working in diverse environments to perform routine maintenance, identify faults, and conduct repairs that enhance generator reliability. This position requires the ability to follow detailed technical instructions, maintain safety standards, and communicate repair status effectively to supervisors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maintenance and repair on diesel generator sets, ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
• Conduct detailed mechanical repairs on engines and related generator components using appropriate repair techniques.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in generator sets efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Execute generator set testing and calibration to verify operational standards and system performance.
• Maintain accurate service records and report any observations, repair actions, and parts replacements.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies rigorously when handling mechanical and electrical tasks.
• Collaborate with engineers and site personnel to coordinate maintenance schedules and resolve technical issues.
• Stay updated with the latest mechanical repair methods and technologies related to diesel engines and generator systems.
• Ensure timely availability and use of tools and spare parts necessary for service activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance related to diesel generator maintenance when required.
