Job Purpose
The transformation office is working on establishing Mashreq’s Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE). It is a centralized testing framework within an organization that standardizes processes, tools, best practices, and governance. In a global bank like Mashreq, it acts as a quality assurance hub that provides strategy, tools, and resources across technology and business domains spanning retail, digital, corporate, investment banking, and regulatory areas. The purpose of the job is to augment domain specific replication of TCOE process and artifacts, ensure their implementation on the project under test, creating test KPIs, metrics and dashboards and capturing them across Mashreq projects. The role must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products of the domain. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s testing practices, SOPs and architecture to support our next generation of products and Quality initiatives of the vertical/group.

4 Key Result Areas
· Set up, optimize, and manage the QA function within the assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with the Mashreq QA Policy and TCOE framework. · Implement standardized testing methodologies, tools, processes, and templates across all portfolio projects. · Align QA strategy with portfolio-specific business goals, IT objectives, and regulatory requirements. · Lead the implementation of the TCOE framework, governance policies, and best practices within the portfolio. · Collaborate with:; Central Process Governance Team to adopt the latest QA processes and ensure compliance. Technical Lead Team to drive automation-first mindset, performance testing, and data strategy & Transformation Office & Change Executors to ensure visibility and alignment on QA standards and implementation. · Leverage deep domain knowledge to tailor QA practices to the unique needs of the portfolio (e.g., Digital Banking, Retail Banking). · Domain Experts support the Portfolio QA Lead by validating business-critical scenarios, identifying domain-specific risks, and ensuring coverage of key functionalities. · Ensure consistent application of QA policies, templates, and standards across all testing activities. · Collaborate with product owners, initiation leads, business stakeholders, and users to understand requirements and drive effective test planning and execution. · Monitor testing projects to ensure compliance, quality outcomes, and timely delivery. · Maximize the use of defined QA metrics and KPIs (e.g., defect trends, coverage, cycle time) to measure effectiveness and drive accountability. · Present QA performance reports to portfolio stakeholders and Head of TCOE. · Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on test results, trends, and risk indicators.
· Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to continuous enhancement of QA practices within the portfolio. · Promote QA maturity within the portfolio through mentoring, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. · Encourage adoption of innovative tools and techniques aligned with TCOE goals. · Support onboarding and upskilling of QA team members within the portfolio. · Apply risk-based testing approaches to prioritize efforts based on business impact and technical complexity. · Ensure QA practices contribute to improved user experience and customer satisfaction.

· Experienced in application designing, architecting, development and deployment of TCOE manifesto for the vertical. Must be efficient in banking domain and know QA best practices. · Strong testing design and implementation skills. Experienced in banking applications. · Feasibility Analysis- Analyze the requirements to define scope and evaluate technical feasibility.

8 Knowledge, Skills and Experience
· Over 15 years of experience in banking QA in domains like Core banking, Digital, Trade etc. · Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics. · Experience in QA and QA leadership roles. · Proficient in working with QA teams. · Advanced understanding in automation scripting, tagging conventions, and test case design. · Strong command over defect lifecycle, severity categorization, defect aging, and defect removal efficiency (DRE). · Handling test data provisioning, synthetic data generation, and environment setup. · Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and dashboard/reporting tools like Excel, Grafana, and Power BI. · Proficiency in validating APIs for functionality, reliability, and security. · Ability to define and track: Automation coverage, Execution metrics (plan vs actual), Defect density and leakage trends, Productivity benchmarks (e.g., test cases/day), Exit criteria automation · Experience in building dashboards with auto-populated metrics and heat maps for defect and execution trends. · Root cause analysis, risk identification, and mitigation planning. · Effective stakeholder management & engagement, cross-functional coordination, and clear documentation. · Leading triage calls, peer reviews, and coaching junior testers. · Driving process optimization, standardization, and reuse of QA assets. · Deliverables & Responsibilities: QA Strategy Documents, Test Plan & Exit Reports, Automation Strategy & Execution Summary, Weekly Status Reports & Dashboards, SOPs for QA processes · Weekly, monthly and quarterly QA Audits and reporting
