The Head Chef at The Hiring Lab leads the culinary team with creativity and precision, ensuring exceptional food quality and presentation. This role requires overseeing menu development, maintaining kitchen operations, and fostering a collaborative environment for a team of five staff members. The Head Chef actively participates in staff training and supervision, emphasizing recipe standardization and quality control to deliver a consistent and outstanding dining experience. The ideal candidate demonstrates openness to learning and experimenting with new culinary techniques and ingredients to continually enhance the menu and kitchen performance.

In addition to managing day-to-day kitchen activities, the Head Chef is responsible for maintaining compliance with health and safety standards and ensuring efficient kitchen management. This position demands a proactive leader who can motivate the team, drive innovation in menu offerings, and maintain high culinary standards. The Head Chef plays a vital role in balancing creativity with operational excellence to meet the companys culinary goals and customers expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of five kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective kitchen operations.
• Develop and update menus that reflect innovative and high-quality culinary offerings, incorporating experimentation and new techniques.
• Oversee kitchen management tasks, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Implement and enforce recipe standardization to ensure consistent quality and presentation across all dishes.
• Monitor and enforce quality control standards to maintain high levels of food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
• Train kitchen staff in culinary techniques, proper food handling, and safety procedures to promote skill development and compliance.
• Collaborate with management to plan and execute special events, seasonal menus, and new product introductions.
• Manage kitchen costs and budgeting without compromising quality or guest experience.
• Review and enhance kitchen workflows to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Stay open to learning new cooking methods and experimenting with ingredients to continuously improve menu offerings.
