Manager Business Finance - Enabling Functions

Purpose

This multifaced and focal position acts as a Controller as well as Finance Business Partner of important Enabling Functions including IT, Cyber security, real estate, Civil, Legal & HR, along with MYT Investment plans for Enabling functions and Fixed Asset area of Enabling Functions.

Key areas include finance partnering, budget preparation, monitoring & controlling, ensuring execution aligned with budgets, approvals etc., investment forecasts, feasibilities, capex & revex approvals, contract reviews and negotiations, identifying risk areas, providing key inputs for strategic decision making, regulatory / tariff requirement (e.g., NEPRA), managing audits etc.

Further, this position is also responsible for overall reporting of all Enabling Functions to provide a consolidated view and cost allocation mechanism for allocation of Enabling / Support function costs to Core functions i.e. Generation, Transmission and Distribution.

Areas Of Responsibilities

Budgeting & Controlling

Acts as a Financial Controller / Finance Business Partner of Enabling Functions including IT, Cyber security, Real Estate, Civil, FMS, legal and HR.

• Strategize and govern overall budget controlling and monitoring of allocated Enabling Functions and deliver finance’s role in planning & execution activities, in accordance with Budget, NEPRA investment plan / limits, Company’s Long-Term Business Plan, KPIs and objectives
• Enable preparation budget, keeping in view business needs and ensuring alignment with the Business Investment Plan and company objectives.
• Enable insights and visibility on Budgets, approvals and utilizations to support Business / Leadership in decision making
• Enable feasibilities of new projects / ideas for decision making
• Enable timely execution of closing activities including accruals, project completions, closures, expense entries etc.
  
  

Compliance, policies, Process improvements

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry trends and identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Provides support when dealing with the regulator, internal audit, external audit and any other agencies / authorities
• Ensuring implementation & compliance with policies to achieve desired outcomes (For eg. Procurement policy, FMS policy etc) including internal reviews to identify any compliance gaps and propose corrective actions
• Review and provide input for continuous improvements in policies / procedures and identify need to develop policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process optimization opportunities and implement efficiency measures within the enabling functions
• Enable identification of automation requirements and implement automated workflows and systems to streamline manual processes
  
  

Contract Management and Supply Chain Support

• Enable Capex and revex execution approvals as per mandates (including PR (Purchase Requisitions), PO (Purchase Orders), RO (Release Orders), PAS (Purchase Approval Summaries), keeping in view budgets, approvals, and feasibilities, and including discussions with stakeholders for achieving best results including pricing, terms and conditions etc,
• Ensure compliance with financial mandates and relevant SoPs during execution of transactions
• Ensure financial compliance with contracts and enable governance structures for this compliance
  
  

Overall reporting of Enabling Functions & Cost Allocation

• Responsible for overall reporting of all Enabling Functions as a consolidated Support Function to provide visibility and cost allocation to Finance leadership as well as G/T/D Leadership
• Drive and revamp the cost allocation mechanism for allocation of Enabling / Support function costs to Core functions i.e. Generation, Transmission and Distribution, involving core function leadership in decision making / ownership on Cost of service for Enabling Functions
  
  

Education & Experience

Professional Accountant or MBA with 5-7 years of relevant experience
