Role Purpose
The Payments & Payout Coordinator is responsible for managing AMTL's payout corridor portfolio at an operational level. The role ensures consistent corridor performance monitoring, active payout partner coordination, and structured representation of AMTL's payout priorities within the Group function. The postholder serves as a key escalation point for operational payout issues raised by internal teams, and as the primary operational interface between AMTL's Banking and Payments team, ensuring that Ireland-specific payout requirements are tracked, escalated, and resolved in a timely manner.

AMTL is a Central Bank of Ireland regulated payment institution and the EU/EEA operating entity of the ACE Group. AMTL operates across multiple EEA send markets and maintains a payout corridor portfolio spanning destinations across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa. The Banking and Payments department owns the payout infrastructure, partner relationships, and corridor performance function for the Irish entity.
This role sits within Banking and Payments reporting directly to the Head of Banking and Payments. It works in close coordination with the other Departments, which manages group-level correspondent and payout partner agreements.

Key Responsibilities
Corridor Portfolio Management
- Maintain a live performance view across AMTL's payout corridor portfolio, tracking exchange rates, uptime, settlement timelines, payout speeds, and customer experience metrics
- Identify underperforming corridors through data analysis and produce structured escalation reports for the Head of Banking and Payments
- Monitor corridor-level KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis and produce management reporting for senior stakeholders
- Support evaluation of new payout corridors or corridor expansions in line with AMTL's strategic growth objectives
- Act as the day to day operational liaison between AMTL on all payout related matters
- Coordinate follow-up on corridor issues, partner service commitments, and SLA gaps, ensuring AMTL's payout requirements are actively represented
- Maintain an organised and up-to-date record of payout partner contacts, active agreements, escalation history, and resolution status
- Support escalation and resolution of payout partner failures, service degradation, or silent outages that impact AMTL transaction volumes
- Serve as the primary escalation point for payout related operational issues raised by internal teams, including Operations, Customer Support, and Compliance
- Receive, triage, and coordinate resolution of corridor-level incidents such as transaction holds, compliance triggered payment delays, unexpected volume spikes, or payout processing failures affecting AMTL-originated transactions
- Liaise with payout partners to investigate root causes, communicate resolution timelines, and ensure affected transactions are unblocked promptly
- Maintain a structured log of escalated issues, resolution actions, and turnaround times, and report recurring patterns to the Head of Banking and Payments for strategic review
- Coordinate with AMTL's AML and Compliance function where escalations involve compliance holds, proof of purpose requests, or regulatory flagging at the payout end
- Support onboarding of new payout partners by coordinating documentation, due diligence packs, and compliance requirements
- Liaise with AMTL's AML and Compliance function to ensure all partner onboarding activities meet CBI regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready records of partner agreements, SLAs, and onboarding documentation in line with AMTL's document management standards
- Monitor competitor payout rates, corridor availability, and service propositions across AMTL's key markets including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, and Africa
- Compile regular intelligence reports highlighting material shifts in the competitive landscape and feeding these into corridor strategy discussions
- Identify emerging opportunities or risks in target payout markets and bring these to the attention of the Head of Banking and Payments
- Own corridor and partner data across relevant internal systems, maintaining real-time accuracy and pipeline visibility
- Produce structured weekly and monthly corridor performance reports for the Head of Banking and Payments and, where required, for EXCO-level review
- Support process improvements that increase operational efficiency in corridor monitoring and partner communication workflows
Essential
- Degree-level education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in account management, client relationship management, or operational coordination
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume portfolios with strong attention to data accuracy and reporting discipline
- Experience working in a remote or cross-functional coordination environment with multiple internal stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, and data reporting tools
- Prior experience in financial services, banking, remittances, or payments
- Familiarity with AML, KYC, and regulated financial services environments
- Experience working with or alongside UK or European regulated entities
- Knowledge of South Asian, Southeast Asian, or African payout markets
- Portfolio and Account Management: ability to manage a large number of relationships and data points simultaneously without loss of quality or accuracy
- Coordination and Follow-Through: structured, disciplined approach to tracking open items, chasing resolutions, and closing loops across teams
- Data Literacy: comfort working with performance data, building reports, and communicating insights clearly to senior stakeholders
- Commercial Awareness: understanding of how corridor performance and partner relationships directly impact revenue and customer experience
- Stakeholder Management: ability to navigate internal relationships across geographies and functions, including upward communication to senior leadership
- Adaptability: willingness to learn the payments and remittance industry and apply prior relationship management experience in a new context
