We are looking for a Payroll Operations Lead to oversee day-to-day payroll operations for a US-based retail and restaurant chain. In this role, you will help manage multi-state payroll processing, support tax and compliance activities, and work closely with the client’s finance team using ADP.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support end-to-end multi-state payroll processing for a large hourly and salaried workforce on bi-weekly cycles.
• Assist with processing of bonuses and incentive payouts, helping ensure accurate calculations and timely disbursement.
• Help coordinate and review the work of payroll team members, providing day-to-day guidance and quality checks.
• Support payroll tax filings, reconciliation, and year-end activities such as W-2 preparation.
• Assist in researching and responding to payroll-related discrepancies and routine tax agency correspondence.
• Help monitor payroll practices for alignment with federal, state, and local wage and hour requirements.
• Collaborate with the client’s HR and Finance teams on payroll-related audits and process improvements.
• Act as a point of contact for payroll questions from employees and location managers.
• Support payroll system administration and assist with ADP-related updates or transitions as needed.
Requirements
• 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, ideally including some team lead or coordination exposure.
• Experience processing multi-state, high-volume payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good working knowledge of Excel for reporting and reconciliation tasks.
• Clear written and spoken English for client communication. Preferred Skills:
• Prior experience in a BPO, staffing, or shared services payroll environment.
• Hands-on working experience with ADP (any ADP platform – Workforce Now, Vantage, or similar).
• Exposure to multi-location or multi-entity payroll setups.
• Familiarity with payroll tax compliance basics.
