Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various construction projects.
- Conduct detailed analysis of drawings and specifications to prepare comprehensive BOQs.
- Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate and provide recommendations for approval.
- Monitor and track project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and management of resources.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout projects.
- Liaise with clients and architects to ensure all parties are on the same page and to provide updates on project costs.
- Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure timely delivery.
- Review project plans and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
Requirements:
- Proven experience of at least 6-10 years as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically handling BOQ.
- In-depth understanding of construction processes and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PlanSwift, Microsoft Excel).
- Ability to work on-site with flexibility to travel as required.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification or membership with a recognized institution (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Sound knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and relevant laws and regulations.
