Rig Helper/Roustabout Required On Contract Bases For 12 Months
Responsibilities and duties
2.1. Prepares drilling equipment prior to its use and maintains it whilst it is in storage.
2.2. Maintains the drilling and deck areas on the installation in a clean and tidy state.
2.3. Moves drilling equipment and materials to and from the drill floor and around the installation in a safe and proper manner.
2.4. Cleaning, preparation, and handling of tubular around the rig i.e., Drill string/Casing on the pipe rack.
2.5. Performs "fire watching" duties for the welder where appropriate.
2.6. Carries out relief duties on the Rig Floor when competent to do so.
2.7. Assists with the installation and removal of BOP and wellhead equipment.
2.8. As directed, assists Electricians, Warehouse Men, Welders and Mechanics in the performance of their duties.
2.9. Assures that upon completion of an assignment or at the end of a work period, all equipment and tools are properly stored.
2.10. Carries out general housekeeping duties around rig, on pipe rack, in sack store, pump room, and storage areas, i.e., cleaning and tidying-up of rig areas and stores, washing down rig floor, rig structure and equipment and plant, maintaining paintwork, rust scraping, priming, painting, care of all drilling tools (cleaning, greasing, protecting, proper storing).
2.11. Prepares tubular for running-in (i.e., removing protectors, washing and greasing tubular threads, measuring and numbering of tubular, assisting in running-in tubular, etc.) and laying down tubular etc.
2.12. Offloading and backloading the materials where appropriate.
2.13. Assists Derrick man and Mud helpers in mixing and maintaining the mud system.
2.14. Prepare for rig skidding, assist in rig skidding, rig down or rig up etc.
2.15. Assists in area inspections.
2.16. Stands-in for alternative work discipline as required.
2.17. Mixing and handling drilling fluids and other chemicals used in drilling and production operations.
2.18. Performing manual labor tasks such as digging trenches, shoveling, and hauling.
2.19. Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.
