Senior Accountant – UK Accountancy Practice Experience

Location: Peshawar, Pakistan

Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Employment Type: Full-Time

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with strong UK-based accountancy practice experience to join our team in Peshawar.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience working in a UK-based accountancy practice and should be confident in handling UK accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, and client-facing responsibilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who is looking to develop their leadership, team management, technical and client-management skills while continuing to remain hands-on with accounting and taxation work.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit annual statutory accounts for UK companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, Corporation Tax Returns (CT600), Partnership Tax Returns and Self-Assessment Tax Returns.
• Prepare and review annual and interim financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, IFRS and relevant accounting standards.
• Review accounting records, reconciliations, working papers and tax computations for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct quality control and file reviews of work prepared by junior accountants.
• Provide training, coaching and mentoring to junior accountants and apprentices.
• Liaise directly with UK-based clients and provide professional accounting and taxation guidance.
• Provide guidance on UK tax compliance, tax planning and financial best practices.
• Identify technical issues and provide practical accounting and taxation solutions.
• Assist the Team Manager with workflow management, deadlines and overall team performance.
• Ensure all client work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  
  

Knowledge & Experience

• Qualified accountant and/or member of a recognised professional accounting body such as ACCA, ICAEW or ICAP.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a UK-based accountancy practice.
• Strong practical knowledge of UK accounting and taxation.
• Good understanding of:
• UK Corporation Tax, Personal Tax / Self-Assessment, Partnership Tax, VAT, Capital Gains Tax, UK GAAP and IFRS
• Strong experience in preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Hands-on experience with UK accounting and accounts production software, particularly:
• Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, Sage Accounts Production, IRIS, CCH
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
