Senior Legal Counsel

As we continue to grow locally and internationally, we are seeking an experienced and business-oriented Senior Legal Counsel to lead legal and compliance initiatives, support strategic decision-making, and safeguard the organization's interests.

This role requires a proactive legal professional who can provide practical legal guidance, manage complex commercial matters, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with stakeholders across the organization to enable sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory & Strategic Counsel

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to leadership and internal stakeholders on corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory matters.
• Provide practical legal solutions that align with business objectives while minimizing legal exposure.
• Support strategic initiatives, partnerships, and expansion efforts from a legal and compliance perspective.
  
  

Contract Drafting & Negotiation

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of agreements, including:
• Client and vendor contracts
• Service agreements
• NDAs and confidentiality agreements
• Partnership and collaboration agreements
• Employment-related documents
• Ensure contractual obligations are clearly defined and legally enforceable.
  

Compliance & Risk Management

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business.
• Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Identify legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies to protect organizational interests.
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations in Pakistan and relevant international jurisdictions.
  
  

Corporate Governance

• Advise management on governance best practices and legal obligations.
• Prepare and maintain corporate records, resolutions, and governance documentation.
• Support board and management meetings with legal insights and documentation.
  
  

Dispute Resolution & External Counsel Management

• Manage pre-litigation matters, disputes, claims, and legal proceedings.
• Coordinate and oversee external legal counsel when required.
• Develop effective strategies for dispute avoidance and resolution.
  
  

Policy Development & Training

• Draft, review, and update internal policies to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct legal awareness and compliance training sessions for employees and management.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• LL.B. degree from a recognized institution (LL.M. preferred).
• 7-9 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal environment.
• Strong expertise in corporate law, commercial law, contract management, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex legal negotiations and business transactions.
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience supporting technology, SaaS, or digital businesses.
• Familiarity with international legal frameworks, including UK, EU, and US jurisdictions.
• Experience with cross-border commercial transactions and international contracting.
• Knowledge of data privacy, intellectual property, and technology-related legal matters.
