Senior Medical Coder

Job Overview:

As a Senior Medical Coding Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical coding practices. You will oversee the coding of medical records, conduct audits to maintain coding standards, and provide guidance to coding staff. Your role will involve staying current with coding guidelines and regulations to ensure correct and efficient coding for billing and insurance purposes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee complex medical coding tasks, ensuring stringent adherence to coding protocols and insurance requirements.
• Develop and implement coding analysis strategies to support accurate billing and maximize reimbursements.
• Lead quality assurance efforts for medical coding, conducting audits, and providing feedback for coding accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as a senior resource for coding education, spearheading training initiatives and mentoring coding staff.
• Liaise between medical staff and coding teams to promote a comprehensive understanding of medical documentation requirements.
• Champion the resolution of high-level coding discrepancies and lead discussions to refine coding practices.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Above
• 3 to 5 years of experience in US Medical Billing or Medical Coding role.
• Good understanding of full life cycle revenue cycle management.
• Ability to effectively initiate and manage multi-disciplined projects. Up-to-date knowledge of reimbursement regulations and compliance issues of third-party payers (Insurance companies).
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Strong professional demeanor with the inherent quality to rapidly establish credibility and rapport with clinicians, managers, customers and external groups.
• Ability to identify opportunities and solutions for process improvement along with the skills of planning and implementation of these solutions.
