Senior Platform Engineer

Furka LLC is a platform engineering and infrastructure consultancy serving clients internationally. We help companies design, build, and operate reliable cloud infrastructure, with services spanning platform engineering, DevOps, cloud migration, infrastructure optimization, and security.

The role

You will work directly on client infrastructure across multiple engagements. Projects typically start with a platform assessment, move into implementation, and may continue as long-term embedded work.

Typical work includes Kubernetes migrations, database optimization, CI/CD improvements, cost reduction, security remediation, and production incident debugging. This is primarily an infrastructure role, but you should be comfortable working across backend and frontend boundaries when needed to understand systems, unblock migrations, or support client teams.

You will own work from scoping through implementation and handover. The role requires independence, clear communication, and the ability to ramp up quickly on unfamiliar systems.

What we need

- 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles

- Strong experience with AWS or GCP, and ability to work across both

- Deep Kubernetes knowledge with production operations experience

- Solid Linux fundamentals: networking, processes, filesystems, debuggingDocker and container internals

- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or a similar language, with experience building real software beyond automation scripts

- Frontend and backend experience sufficient to work across the stack when needed

- Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent infrastructure as code experience

- Security fundamentals: least privilege, network segmentation, secrets management

- Strong written and spoken English for working with international clients

Nice to have

- AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKS, or Solutions Architect Professional

- PostgreSQL or similar database operations experience at scale

- Cost optimization experience with measurable results

- Compliance experience such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001

- Observability experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar tools

- Open source contributions or technical writing

- Fully remote, based in Islamabad, with some overlap with international client time zones
