Our client Confidential is looking for a Senior Project Manager - Nutrition Program in Peshawar

The Provincial Project Manager serves as Organization's senior-most representative in KP and leads the implementation of the Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP) across 08 districts. As Provincial Lead, the post-holder is accountable for Organization's provincial footprint, external representation, and overall project delivery - coordinating with government line departments, BISP, NADRA, UN agencies, and other stakeholders. The role ensures effective project management, staff supervision, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, budget oversight, and compliance, in line with organizational and donor standards, and acts as the primary point of escalation for provincial operations.

Education

• Advanced university degree (Master's or above) in Nutrition, Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a relevant field.
  
  

Experience & Required Skills

• Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in nutrition, program planning/management, preferably in maternal and child health/nutrition, including at least 2-5 years in a senior or provincial-level project management role.
• Proven experience managing humanitarian or development projects, ideally with UN/donor-funded programs.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, representation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, with knowledge of health/nutrition data collection tools and software.
• Training facilitation and capacity-building expertise.
• Negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Strategic planning and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and relevant data/reporting software.
• Fluency in English and Urdu; working knowledge of Saraiki/KPi is an advantage.
• Based in Peshawar, KP, with frequent travel to the target districts.
• Occasional visits to the provincial and head offices for coordination and reporting.
  
  

Responsibilities

Provincial Leadership, Coordination & Representation

• Act as the central focal point and senior Organization representative for BNP across the 08 target districts, providing strategic leadership and oversight of provincial operations.
• Develop and sustain effective coordination with provincial and district-level government line departments, BISP, NADRA, and UN agencies to strengthen program credibility, reach, and long-term sustainability.
• Represent Organization at provincial and district-level forums, promoting BNP's objectives, strengthening visibility, and leading advocacy efforts that position the program as a key contributor to nutrition outcomes.
• Lead inclusive planning and coordination platforms with diverse stakeholders, building consensus and collective ownership of strategies that advance nutrition, health, and social protection goals across KP.
  
  

Project Management

• Lead planning, execution, and monitoring of BNP activities across all districts, ensuring adherence to program strategies, work plans, and timelines.
• Identify risks and challenges and propose timely mitigation measures.
• Provide strong leadership of project teams to deliver positive short- and long-term outcomes for beneficiaries and local authorities.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of effective nutrition interventions, including data collection, reporting and monitoring tools, job aids, and data quality assurance processes.
• Integrate beneficiary participation and accountability across all aspects of the project.
• Ensure timely reporting of activities in line with organizational, partner, and donor timeframes and formats.
• Ensure rigorous and consistent quality assurance across all target districts to achieve measurable improvements in program performance and impact
  
  

Staff & Team Management

• Oversee the provincial Program, HR, and Logistics teams, including day-to-day management, development, training, and performance appraisals.
• Supervise and mentor district teams, providing coaching, technical supervision, and performance management.
• Facilitate regular meetings to share information across departments and teams, ensuring staff are aligned on objectives and work plans and have opportunities for feedback.
• Assess training needs with the capacity-building unit and ensure appropriate training is delivered and applied in the field.
• Maintain effective communication channels between field teams and the provincial/regional and head offices.
  
  

Operational Support

• Provide operational guidance to district teams for smooth and timely delivery of services.
• Oversee procurement, logistics, and administrative processes, liaising with logistics and finance staff to ensure items are procured, transported, stored, managed, and accounted for correctly.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
• Facilitate timely resource allocation to districts.
  
  

Budget Management & Compliance

• Manage project budgets with accountability and transparency, ensuring all expenditure aligns with the budget and meets organizational financial management standards.
• Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Prepare variance analyses and financial reports for management and donors.
• Facilitate audits, spot checks, compliance reviews, and corrective actions.
  
  

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

• Continuously monitor and supervise project activities, evaluating progress against outputs and impact using both quantitative and qualitative data, and involving project teams in analysis and action.
• Ensure timely collection and consolidation of district-level data.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure data quality assurance and compliance with reporting standards.
• Document lessons learned and best practices, and support knowledge management and dissemination of results for future programming.
