The role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Water Resources Specialist to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on water and irrigation infrastructure projects. The role involves applying advanced engineering and hydrological expertise to deliver innovative solutions for irrigation systems, river engineering, stormwater management, and flood mitigation projects.

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of irrigation and water infrastructure projects.
• Conduct and oversee hydrological evaluations, rainfall - runoff modelling, flood estimation, and reservoir operational simulations.
• Provide technical guidance on river hydraulics, sediment transport, river training works, and flood mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including national and international experts, to ensure technically sound project delivery.
• Engage with clients, funded agencies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with technical, environmental, and social standards.
  
  
  

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable Applicants Will Have/be

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or water resources engineering or planning; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in irrigation and water infrastructure projects.
• Strong expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, irrigation system design, river engineering, and flood mitigation.
• Experience with international or multidisciplinary projects is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
