Position Overview
The SOC Analyst L1 is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and responding to security incidents to protect customer IT environments from cyber threats. This role conducts technical analysis, threat and vulnerability assessments, and root cause investigations to identify impacts and implement effective remediation measures. The position supports incident response activities by collecting and validating evidence, coordinating issue resolution, and ensuring adherence to established processes and service level agreements. Working closely with internal teams and customers, the analyst provides exceptional service while driving continuous security improvements. The role also involves mentoring team members, documenting knowledge, and preparing technical reports to support operational and strategic security initiatives.

What You’ll Do As The SOC Analyst L1

- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct technical analysis on impacted systems to determine impact, scope, and recovery from active and potential cyber incidents
- Monitor threats to an customer IT infrastructure
- Utilize and adhere to defined workflow and processes driving the response and mitigation efforts
- Collect relevant artifacts in support of incident response activities and validate findings reported
- Assess security systems and measures for weaknesses and possible improvements.
- Conduct threat and vulnerability analysis
- Enforce a high-quality customer service culture, where every client feels like the one and only
- Share and document your knowledge with teammates and guide them in the resolution of complex technical problems
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance to new staff on the team
- Ensure accurate and timely resolution of all assigned issues, confirming to a strict SLA
- Experience coordinating resolution of L1/L2 support issues, and escalations as required
- Design and prepare technical reports, charts, and graphs to record results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent in work experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in the field of cyber security
- Must have strong communications skills (verbal & written) including the ability to communicate with all levels
- Team player and collaborator, self motivated and demonstrated continuous learning
- Solid understanding of networking, malware analysis, incident response, and cyber etiquette.
- Understanding of Networking (including the OSI Model, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP), System Administration, and Security Architecture
- Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Windows Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows 10 OS, PowerShell
- Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, broad experience with Microsoft 365 Security, Azure Security
- Certifications in Microsoft security stack, Sentinel, Defender, CrowdStrike, Sentinel One, other EDR, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Linux technologies, SC-200, AZ-500 preferred
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Service-Now, Zendesk, Jira, Freshdesk, etc.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment where technology and customers' requirements can change regularly.
