TEKHQS is seeking a Mid-Level AI/ML Software Engineer with 2–3 years of experience to join its Lahore team. The role involves building and deploying innovative machine learning and generative AI solutions. You’ll work hands-on with transformer-based models, deep learning frameworks, and optimization tools to create production-ready AI systems. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about generative AI, LLMs, and advanced neural architectures.

You’ll collaborate with a global team of AI professionals, contribute to research-inspired projects, and apply modern ML techniques to real-world challenges.

Responsibilities

• Build and train transformer-based AI models (e.g., BERT, GPT, etc.) using GPU environments.
• Support the design and implementation of Generative AI (GenAI) systems, including preprocessing, fine-tuning, and model deployment.
• Experiment with model optimization techniques such as pruning, quantization, and efficient attention mechanisms.
• Implement and adapt state-of-the-art algorithms from research papers and open-source frameworks.
• Manage end-to-end model lifecycle: data preparation, training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Work with multi-modal data (text, images, etc.) for cross-domain AI projects.
• Optimize models for low-latency inference and efficient memory usage.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance performance and reliability of AI systems.
• Write modular, testable Python code and contribute to CI/CD automation pipelines.
  
  

Requirements

Core AI/ML Skills:

• Understanding of transformers, self-attention, and normalization (e.g., LayerNorm).
• Knowledge of token sampling (Top-k, Top-p) and training methods like curriculum learning.
• Experience with supervised/unsupervised learning (classification, regression, masked modeling).
  
  

Training Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or HuggingFace.
• Familiarity with distributed training and mixed-precision (fp16) optimization.
• Comfort with CSV, JSON, or Parquet data formats.
  
  

Model Optimization & Serving

• Understanding of quantization, pruning, and ONNX/HuggingFace Inference.
  
  

Generative AI Systems

• Interest or experience in LLMs and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
• Familiarity with tokenizers (BPE, SentencePiece).
  
  

Software Engineering

• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.
• Familiarity with profiling tools (PyTorch Profiler).
  
  

Mathematical Foundations

• Solid understanding of gradient descent, loss functions, and linear algebra.
• Comfort with probability and statistics for data analysis and evaluation.
