We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead / WordPress Lead to lead our development department, oversee technical excellence, mentor developers, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality WordPress websites for clients worldwide.
Job Summary
As the Tech Lead / WordPress Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development team, managing end-to-end WordPress projects, ensuring code quality, website security, performance optimization, and mentoring developers. You will collaborate closely with Design, SEO, Project Management, and Marketing teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing websites.
Key Responsibilities
WordPress Development

• Lead complete WordPress website development from planning to deployment.
• Convert Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive WordPress websites.
• Develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, templates, and reusable components.
• Customize existing plugins using WordPress best practices.
• Build WooCommerce stores including payment gateways, shipping configurations, and custom functionality.
• Develop custom post types, taxonomies, REST APIs, and advanced WordPress features.
• Maintain coding standards, documentation, and version control.
  
  

Technical Leadership

• Lead and mentor the development team.
• Assign tasks and monitor project progress.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain development quality.
• Support developers in solving technical challenges.
• Plan development timelines and technical architecture.
• Drive continuous improvement of development processes.
  
  

Website Performance & Security

• Optimize websites for speed, Core Web Vitals, and SEO.
• Implement security best practices including SSL, backups, firewalls, malware protection, and role-based permissions.
• Monitor website uptime, server performance, and hosting environments.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, plugin conflicts, and server-related problems.
• Maintain staging and production environments.
  
  

Quality Assurance

• Ensure responsive design across all devices and browsers.
• Perform technical QA before deployment.
• Verify accessibility and usability standards.
• Maintain clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
  
  

Client & Project Management

• Participate in client discovery and technical meetings.
• Provide technical recommendations and project estimates.
• Coordinate project timelines with Project Managers.
• Communicate technical risks and project updates proactively.
• Manage website migrations and deployment processes.
  
  

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with UI/UX Designers to ensure accurate implementation.
• Collaborate with SEO specialists for technical SEO improvements.
• Coordinate with Content and Marketing teams when required.
• Support continuous learning by sharing technical knowledge with the team.
  
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain technical documentation for every project.
• Prepare deployment documentation and client handover materials.
• Submit daily progress updates and weekly development reports.
• Track billable hours and report project status to management.
• Document completed projects for the company portfolio.
  
  

Requirements
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  
  

Experience

• 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
• 2+ years leading or mentoring development teams.
• Experience working in a digital agency is highly preferred.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Expert in WordPress development.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Expertise in Elementor and custom theme development.
• Experience with WooCommerce customization.
• Strong understanding of WordPress Hooks, Filters, REST APIs, Custom Post Types, and ACF.
• Experience with Git and version control.
• Knowledge of hosting platforms, cPanel, Plesk, Cloudflare, and server management.
• Strong understanding of website security and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and Core Web Vitals.
• Basic knowledge of SEO best practices and schema implementation.
