Territory Sales Officer (TSO) – Rice Seed

Jaffer Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Territory Sales Officer (TSO) to join our Seeds Division, with a specific focus on rice seed sales. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing strong relationships with our dealer network, driving demand at the grower level, and ensuring the successful promotion and sale of certified and hybrid rice seed varieties. This role requires strong field presence, market understanding, and a proactive sales approach to achieve set KPIs and annual sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with seed dealers, distributors, and progressive rice growers to expand market share.
• Evaluate territory potential and identify growth opportunities for rice seed sales.
• Conduct on-ground promotional activities, including field demonstrations, seed trials, farmer meetings, and field days to create awareness and generate demand.
• Provide technical guidance to farmers on recommended agronomic practices, seed selection, crop establishment, and overall rice crop management.
• Conduct regular reviews of sales forecasts and progress with the Regional Manager and make data-driven adjustments to achieve targets.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, farmer preferences, and pricing to gather market intelligence and refine sales strategies.
• Ensure product visibility and availability at retail points through effective merchandising, dealer engagement, and inventory planning.
• Develop new business opportunities by identifying potential growers, dealers, and untapped markets within the assigned territory.
  
  

Required Competencies

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with growers, dealers, and distributors.
• Practical knowledge of rice seed sales cycles, distribution channels, and market dynamics.
• Understanding of rice production practices, seed varieties, and farmer requirements.
• Experience in organizing field days, trial plots, demonstrations, and grower meetings.
• Ability to conduct field-level surveys, assess market potential, and gather relevant market intelligence.
• Strong sales planning, target achievement, and territory management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel for sales planning, analysis, and reporting.
  
  

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related discipline.
• Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience in rice seed marketing and sales.
• 2 - 4 years of experience in rice seed sale.
