Al Rehman Developers is looking for an experienced, visionary, and results-driven Head of Construction Department (HOD) to lead our construction operations and ensure the successful execution of residential and commercial development projects. This leadership role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in project execution, strategic planning, team management, and construction operations.

As the Head of the Construction Department, you will oversee the complete construction lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Planning & Execution

• Lead and manage the overall construction department and project execution strategy.
• Develop construction schedules, project milestones, and execution plans.
• Ensure timely completion of all construction activities while maintaining project quality.
• Monitor project timelines and proactively resolve delays and operational challenges.
  
  

Site Operations & Resource Management

• Supervise multiple construction sites simultaneously.
• Optimise workforce allocation, equipment utilisation, and material planning.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors.
• Ensure efficient labour scheduling and maximum site productivity.
  
  

Budget Control & Financial Management

• Prepare and monitor departmental budgets.
• Review project costs and ensure financial discipline throughout project execution.
• Approve material requisitions and monitor procurement requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management.
  
  

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and external consultants.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and project deliverables.
• Evaluate contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Build strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely material availability.
  
  

Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance

• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, engineering standards, and company policies.
• Implement quality control procedures throughout the construction process.
• Enforce workplace health and safety regulations across all project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections to maintain construction excellence.
  
  

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and motivate construction teams to achieve departmental goals.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Resolve technical and operational challenges through effective decision-making.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  
  

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related technical discipline (B.Sc. Civil Engineering / BE Civil / BS Construction Technology).
  
  

Experience

• 10–12 years of proven experience in Building Construction and High-Rise Development Projects.
• Extensive hands-on experience in structural works and finishing activities.
• Previous experience as a Senior Construction Manager, Project Head, or Head of Construction Department (HOD) will be highly preferred.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Project Management Software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel and construction reporting tools.
• Excellent understanding of construction drawings, blueprint reconciliation, BOQs, and project documentation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, quality standards, and project planning.

• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong decision-making and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
