The Accounts and Taxation Officer is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local tax laws, and preparing accurate financial reports. The role involves handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciling accounts, preparing tax filings, and supporting audits.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
  • Prepare journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations for monthly and yearly closing.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
  • Monitor bank transactions and prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.


Taxation Duties:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of VAT/GST, withholding tax, corporate tax returns, and other statutory submissions.
  • Maintain compliance with local and international tax regulations.
  • Liaise with tax consultants and government authorities as needed.
  • Review contracts and transactions to assess tax implications.
  • Keep updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is a plus.
  • 25 years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Tally, Oracle).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
