Basic Job Functions

Responsible for installing and maintaining the ORACLE Source Database and Sinaut Spectrum Operational Database. Also ensure the functioning of TCI, Servers, Workstations Spectrum LAN, VPN activity, GPS device and all SCADA sub-systems etc.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure and upgrade Oracle server and application tools

Allocate system storage and review future storage requirements for the database system

Create and modify primary database storage structures as and when required

Create and modify the database objects (tables, views, indexes) as and when required

Ensure users enrollment and system security as per defined procedures and policies

Ensure smooth functioning of the database as per defined procedures and policies

Monitor and optimize performance of database

Plan and execute backup and recovery of databases

Maintain and verify daily backups and archived data on tapes and NAS

Responsible for troubleshooting Oracle related errors

Review, propose and install required security patches for the Oracle Database

Drive different techniques for generating tables and reports directly from Oracle Database

Calculate the current sizing and estimate the future growth of databases.

Responsibly adopt all defined SCADA operational and safety operating procedures and policies

Prepare specifications for procurement of new software/hardware and manage inspection and testing

Participate in safety drills/meetings, SOPs & housekeeping. Responsibly adopt all HSEQ recommended safety procedures and PPE’s during site/field visits.

Log and maintain records/reports for all tasks assigned

Meet Schedules and time lines, understand and follow oral and written directions.

Responsible to implement all safety procedures as advised by HSEQ dept. in all activities of SCADA hardware systems.

Ensure availability of presence in emergencies and exigencies round the clock.

Abide by instructions to handle other systems as needed /instructed/directed by line manager and/or above authorities

Regular monitoring of temperature and environment of Server room/UPS room/SCADA room and other sub-system locations

B.E Electronics / Electrical / Computer Science

Or

Graduate with Related Database Administration certification
