PURPOSE

To undertake planning, administration and operation of Annual Preventive Maintenance/ Hot Spot Maintenance /NC schemes and other system improvement proposals

Minimum Requirements

Education & Relevant Experience: BE – Electrical

Minimum 1 Year OJT Experience

 Knowledge

  • Understanding of Electrical network systems primarily related to SSM, UGM, OPN
  • Knowledge of financial and technical feasibility with Return on investments
  • Understanding of loss control and maintenance projects
  • Project Scheduling and material management
  • Evaluation of budgets and projections.
  • Knowledge of Post Project Implementation Analysis
  • Intermediate MS Office Skills

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

People

  • Provide guidance and direction to the teams.
  • Drive development and objective structurization plans.
  • Co-ordinate the performance management review process – probationary, mid and annual reviews; regular catch-up meetings with individual team members on periodical basis.
  • Maintain a favorable work relationship with the team to promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment.

Business

Planning

  • Ensure proper survey of complete feeders covering all nodes under Annual Preventive/Hot Spot Maintenance (HT & LT) and prepare project cost with material quantification in coordination with Analysis and operation teams.
  • Ensure cable route surveys for laying of new system feeders in coordination with E&C and process approvals accordingly.
  • Vet and supervise execution of new connections involving U/G cable, substation and feeder schemes.
  • Design schemes and manage approvals along with costing for the induction of system PMTs, new links for back feeding of radial branches and replacement of deteriorated/under sized network (OH & U/G).
  • Suggest schemes and keep follow up on approvals for the relocation of existing HT/LT network in case of government funded projects (road rehabilitation, widening, underpass, OH bridges etc) and other paid jobs.
  • Plan reconstruction/rehabilitation of hopeless substations in coordination of AM CM and process due information on CWRF.
  • Plan mitigation of reported safety hazards and process schemes accordingly.
  • Undertake site surveys for the installation of new switch gears and ring main units.
  • Ensure installation of AMR check meters on distribution transformers covered under different SIPs.
  • Arrange Right of Way (ROW) for the execution of schemes.

Coordination

  • Undertake due coordination with Operations, Execution, Projects and other relevant stakeholders for the completion of all system and paid schemes.

Record Keeping And Reporting

  • Keep track of HT/LT Ratio and follow SAIFI/SAIDI trends for appropriate planning.
  • Ensure periodical reporting mechanism.

Ensure that department operates in accordance with all the applicable health, safety and environmental protocols leading towards safety and well-being of staff & public.
