Assistant Manager QC

Purpose

Main purpose of the job is to ensure Quality control during manufacturing process to achieve quality product that fulfills requirement of applicable local & international specifications and standards. The ultimate aim is to manufacture product that ensures uninterrupted power supply by K-Electric. The responsibility in quality department to improve production efficiency and close monitoring the activities with Quality control inspectors for the routine production jobs as per daily requirements. This job ensures quality of products which reduces re-work.

Education

Graduate Preferably Bachelors in (Electrical/Electronics)

Knowledge

• To have a good knowledge and understanding of Transformer & associated material.
• Ability to understand the design instruction / design documentations for quality check.
• To have good knowledge of Transformer production process and requirements.
• Be able to do Inspection of materials at supplier’s premises
• Be able to do physical inspection of materials at delivery in stores as per specifications / criteria
• For materials requiring user input coordination to done with all for user input and final decision
• Ability to explain the reason for rejections to the suppliers
• Support in the development of inspection criteria for new materials / parts with support from Design department
• Improving the inspection criteria based on the problems observed at shop floor / user comments
• Marinating the inspection records on monthly basis for future refence
• Experience of SAP QMS module processes and be able to do QM analytics
• Experience of SAP QM process implementation and enhancement
• Be able to give training on SAP QM module to QC team

1 QUALITY CONTROL OF TRANSFORMER & ASSOCIATED PRODUCTS 20%

Arrange to prepare Non-Conformance Report, Investigation report, quality feedback report & finished product inspection including material and finished products.

Monitoring daily work in process activities through Quality staff.

Maintain the coordination between production & QC.

Post PM outdoor inspection of 10% and prepare checklist.

Visit and prepare prequalification for supplier if any.

Study of design drawing and coordinate with vendors for fabrication.

Marinating the inspection records on monthly basis for future refence

Experience of SAP QMS module processes and be able to do QM analytics

Experience of SAP QM process implementation and enhancement

Be able to give training on SAP QM module to QC team

2 MATERIAL INSPECTION 35%

Production done under continuous quality control monitoring.

Gauging system of Non-Conformance implementation.

Quality enhancement of Product for repair/ refurbishment and preventive maintenance

Enhance Quality Assurance system effectiveness.

Material Inspection, all incoming materials.

3 FAILURE ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS & REPORT PREPARATION 20%

Initiate report to stake holders, with RCA and maintain records 100%.

Implement 3 initiative for quality improvement.

Outdoor Inspection of PM transformers and prepare 12 reports (monthly basis).

Perform fortnightly inspection to verify performance of QC Team as per plan.

4 MISCELLENOUS 25%

Prepare, arrange and conduct training Program for Quality control enhancement of Quality inspectors/staff. (Product / Process wise). At least 4 trainings (1 / quarter)

Upgrade TSW QC team for material Inspection of new transformer manufacturing.

Ensure compliance with CHSEQ Policies.

Online update attendance for QC staff daily.

Develop a positive HSEQ culture within QC Team.
