  • Responsibilities

Integration And Augmentation Of SAS:

  • Integration of new bays and augmentation of existing SAS for increasing load demands. This includes but not limited to:
  • Development and modification of SCL files for specific grid requirements.
  • Parameterization of RTU.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant databases of RTU and SAS devices related to HIS grids for future modification and restoration in case of emergency fault condition.
  • Integration of RTUs and SAS devices from different vendors on specific protocols to reduce vendor dependency.
  • Design and Modification of SAS HMI and Logic
  • Design and Modification of HMI for custom applications and changing electrical network.
  • Design and implementation of interlocking schemes at station level for reliable and safe operations at 11kV and 132 kV network.
  • Develop and design HMI schemes and PLC logic for enhanced data visualization and fault analysis.

RTU Maintenance And Adaptation Work:

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis in case of RTU system failure.
  • Perform Troubleshooting for resolution of SCADA Discrepancies in the region.
  • Parameterize RTUs as per the need of maintenance/adaptation work in the region.
  • Ensure availability of up-to-date RTU Datasheets of stations in the region.
  • Maintain record of changes performed in RTU database in the region.
  • Maintain Up-to-date Backup of RTUs in the region.
  • Ensure timely updation of changes in drawings of station in the region.
  • Supervise Instrumentation and Peripheral Cable Laying, Tagging and Termination work for adaptation/maintenance work.
  • Perform scaling of transducers as per the requirement of Master station.
  • Develop substation communication topology/architecture.
  • Ensuring control system automation and integration of process field with software units.
  • Final Testing and Verification of adapted substation.
  • Creation and conservation of RTU databases and techniques implemented on grid stations.
  • Ensure healthiness of Main and Backup RTU Ports for IEC-60870-5-101.
  • Ensure Seamless Transmission of data from Outstations to LDC.
  • Manage Fault rectification and maintenance in the region
  • Ensure preventive, routine and emergency maintenance work to be completed within scheduled time and budget.

Projects (PID & BD Projects):

  • Perform correspondence with PID and BD Teams.
  • Review and give feedback on Design Files, Drawings, Abstract Models and other Project Documents.
  • Perform FAT and ensure the new system as per the scope of the project.
  • Witnessing of Final Testing and Verification of adapted substation.
  • Verify the As Built Drawings, during SAT, in coordination with PID/BD Team

Departmental Projects:

  • Conduct brainstorming session with the team to have all stakeholders on board.
  • Assign roles to team members, i.e. Engineers and AEs.
  • Review and give feedback on Site Survey and Risk Assessment Reports.
  • Review and give feedback on Design Files, Drawings, Abstract Models and Equipment Consumption Plan.
  • Ensure timely procurement of required equipment, if not in stock.
  • Assign roles, execute project as per the project timeline.
  • Arrange required Human Resource and Logistic Support.
  • Perform Final Testing in coordination with LDC.

Coaching And Mentoring:

  • Provide Coaching and Mentoring to new recruits (AEs and TEs).
  • Share technical knowledge relevant to the need of the business with new recruits.
  • Supervise during site activities and share technical insights so as to complete the tasks effectively.
  • Train the new recruits on field relevant software, as per the need of the business.
  • Praise and encourage new recruits so as to keep them motivated.
  • Develop confidence among new recruits by assigning feasible tasks.
  • Perform SWAT analysis of new recruits and submit report to higher management for necessary action.

Safety Regulations And ISO Standards:

  • Understand and apply industry standards, applicable state and federal safety codes, regulatory compliance requirements and construction codes in projects in accordance with ISO Standards.
  • Ensure execution of site works as per the defined SOPs and ISO Standards.
  • Perform Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification.

Procurement And Budgeting:

  • Prepare and Review Technical Specifications for procurement of new equipment/parts.
  • Perform and Supervise Technical Evaluation of Vendor quotations.
  • Perform correspondence with Procurement department to streamline the procurement process.
  • Respond to queries of vendor and procurement team to speed up the procurement process.
  • Perform FAT of equipment and validate the offered equipment against the Technical Specification, TE Remarks and need of the business.
  • Perform correspondence with R&I department for inspection of offered materials.
  • Give Comments to R&I department on inspections of offered materials.
  • Take decisive measures for acceptance or rejection of offered materials.
  • Submit inspection reports to Higher Management for final decision and action.

Utilization Of SAP-PM:

  • Create Corrective and Preventive Notifications for Adaptation/Maintenance and scheduled activities in SAP-PM respectively.
  • Closure of SAP-PM notification and maintenance orders along with its settlement with respect to relevant WPS or Cost Centre.
  • Create Corrective and Preventive Work Orders of performed Adaptation/Maintenance Work and scheduled Work in SAP-PM respectively.
  • Update of master data.
  • Utilization of SAP-PM work order for material issuance for maintenance activities.
