AVP - Product Engineering Management

The Engineering Lead is responsible for leading the engineering organization, driving technical strategy, and ensuring the successful development and delivery of high-quality software products. This role oversees engineering teams, fosters innovation, and aligns technology initiatives with business goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of software product development in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the engineering strategy to align with product and business objectives.
• Drive innovation, scalability, and performance optimization across product.
• Establish and enforce best practices in software development, architecture, and DevOps.
• Ensure technology choices support product growth, security, and compliance requirements.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) from concept to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product management to define and prioritize the product roadmap.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.
• Implement Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies for efficient development and release cycles.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent.
• Develop career paths and training programs to upskill the engineering team.
• Work closely with product management, UX, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.

• Drive collaboration between engineering, operations, and customer support teams for seamless product delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 12+ years in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in a product-focused organization.
• Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, and modern programming languages.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices.
• Experience in managing large-scale distributed systems and high-availability applications.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Deep technical expertise with hands-on experience in software architecture.
• Ability to drive innovation while maintaining a pragmatic approach to engineering challenges.
