Position: Backend Developer – Remote

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful/GraphQL APIs
• Architect microservices and integrate them with front-end applications and third-party systems
• Optimize database schemas, queries, and indexing for high performance and reliability
• Implement robust authentication, authorization, and data security best practices
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests alongside CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor service health, troubleshoot incidents, and continuously improve system resilience
• Collaborate with product, DevOps, and front-end teams to deliver new features and enhancements

Who You Are

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field—or bring equivalent professional experience
• You have 3+ years of backend development experience in production environments
• Proficient in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, Go, Node.js) and frameworks (Django, Spring Boot, .NET Core, Express)
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Redis)
• Experienced in API design (RESTful, GraphQL) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Familiar with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code principles
• Comfortable with Git workflows, Agile methodologies, and code-review processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying and scaling services in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Expertise in performance tuning, caching strategies (Redis, Memcached), and load balancing
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Knowledge of security best practices (OWASP Top Ten, encryption, secrets management)
• Contributions to open-source projects, technical blogging, or developer community involvement
