Door of awareness is an NGO that aims to break the cycle of poverty and to empower individuals by facilitating them through quality education and vocational training services. Door of Awareness operates 17 schools providing free education in underserved areas and 12 vocational centers offering courses in tailoring, electrician skills, beauty, and computer training. They also run a free matchmaking service and a thrift shop to support social change.
Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring effective management and alignment with our mission. The COO will work closely with the Executive Director/CEO, senior leadership, and staff to drive strategic planning, operational efficiency, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Experience engaging diverse stakeholders, knowledge of non-profit laws, and certification in nonprofit management or leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director/CEO and senior team to shape and execute the organizations strategic goals
- Oversee daily operations, manage budgets and financial reporting, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations
- Supervise program directors, monitor program effectiveness, and recommend improvements for impactful results
- Develop HR policies, oversee recruitment and talent development, and cultivate a positive workplace culture
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including donors and partners, and represent the organization at public events
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field
- 5-7 years in operations management, ideally within a non-profit, with a proven record in strategic planning and organizational growth
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, along with financial management and budgeting expertise
Experience engaging diverse stakeholders, knowledge of non-profit laws, and certification in nonprofit management or leadership.
