Job Profile

Administrative Tasks
  • Appointment Scheduling: Managing patient appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations.
  • Medical Record Management: Updating and organizing patient records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Insurance and Billing Support: Verifying insurance eligibility, processing claims, and assisting with billing inquiries.
  • Email and Communication Management: Handling emails, messages, and phone calls on behalf of the practice.
Patient Support
  • Patient Intake: Collecting and recording patient information prior to appointments.
  • Follow-Ups: Coordinating with patients regarding test results, prescription refills, or treatment plans.
  • Answering Queries: Addressing basic patient inquiries related to office hours, services, and general medical concerns (within the scope of non-clinical staff).
Clinical Support
  • Preparing charts for physician review before appointments.
  • Sending reminders for preventive screenings, lab work, or upcoming visits.

Tools / Skills

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with EMR systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Medical Terminology Knowledge: Understanding basic terms related to internal medicine.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy practice environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to interact with patients and team members professionally.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Awareness of patient confidentiality and healthcare regulations.
  • Experience: Previous experience in healthcare administration or virtual assistance is often preferred.
