About the role
The Country Manager role is to work as Swansea University representative in Pakistan delivering recruitment, partnerships and profile-raising activities as part of university's international development office team. The country manager will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of a student recruitment strategy identified in Pakistan as a key area for growth. The country manager will work with, and report directly to the University’s Regional Head - Middle East, Africa, Turkey, Pakistan & UKI, and will maintain regular contact with staff from across the University.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of the student recruitment strategy in Pakistan, including driving conversion and working with education agent and institutional partnerships.
- Scope and develop new education agent partnerships
- Participate in all recruitment activities including, but not limited to, training, events, student conversion, information sessions and managing enquiries/agent requests.
- Support recruitment to our pathways program, delivered by The College, Swansea University (TCSU).
- Oversee events and University-in-country visits, working closely with the Swansea-based team.
- Working with colleagues at the University to formulate a plan for working with alumni.
- Lead the training of education agents and other partners in the market to ensure consistent and accurate representation of the University.
- Support the Regional Head in developing a budget for the market.
- Keep abreast of market developments and customer context and provide regular market intelligence updates to the University including, for example, recommendations about product portfolio, pipelines and entry criteria.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other key stakeholders in the region including but not limited to government sponsors, private sector sponsors, high schools and agents.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Strong strategic skills with an ability to grasp the big picture and develop strategic plans accordingly
- Confidence in working with, chairing meetings with, and presenting to, senior leaders and stakeholders
- Maintain deep knowledge of the UK education environment and UK admissions processes, including UCAS, and visa requirements set out by UKVI.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Proven track record of strong sales performance
- Experience in recruitment, adult education, and familiarity with Pakistan market
- High-level numeric literacy and critical thinking
- High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills required in Business level English both written and speaking.
- Ability to meet targets within defined timelines among changing priorities.
- Success in a sales role within the Higher Education sector
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
