We are seeking a skilled Regulatory Reporting Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports regulatory reporting for the organization. You will work closely with compliance, risk, finance, and technology teams to ensure accurate and timely data integration, transformation, and reporting that comply with industry regulations (e.g., Basel III, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, FATCA).
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) financial, risk, and compliance data into systems used for regulatory reporting.
- Work closely with other teams to integrate data from various sources, including core banking systems, finance, risk management platforms, and external data feeds, to support regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure that all data required for regulatory reports (e.g., Basel III, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank) is accurately captured, stored, and processed in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Build and maintain automated processes to generate and validate regulatory reports, reducing manual effort and ensuring timely submission to regulators.
- Implement data validation checks and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency in regulatory reports.
- Work closely with compliance, risk, and finance teams to understand regulatory reporting requirements, map out data flows, and ensure data is properly structured for reporting.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, reporting processes, and data models to ensure transparency and ease of maintenance.
- Monitor data pipelines and reporting processes, troubleshoot issues, and resolve discrepancies to ensure smooth operation of regulatory reporting systems.
- Optimize the performance of data systems and pipelines to handle large volumes of financial and regulatory data efficiently.
- Work with regulatory reporting platforms (e.g., Axiom, Wolters Kluwer) and data visualization tools to ensure proper data flow and reporting automation.
- Recommend and implement improvements to data processes and tools to ensure compliance with changing regulations and to increase reporting efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Talend, Informatica) and managing large-scale data pipelines.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g., Basel III, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, FATCA) and their data requirements.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-based data storage solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala for data manipulation, automation, and scripting.
- Expertise in data integration and working with various internal and external data sources for regulatory reporting.
- Experience with data validation and reconciliation processes, ensuring data quality and compliance.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and reporting platforms (e.g., Axiom, Wolters Kluwer).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business, compliance, and technical teams.
- Ability to handle complex datasets and solve data-related challenges.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
