About The Role

The Data Validation & Implementation Specialist ensures that all inbound data from EHRs, HIEs, and claims systems is accurate, complete and clinically usable for the Persivia CareSpace platform. This role works across Data Extraction teams, Platform Engineering, Clinical SMEs and client teams to validate data formats, mappings and content. They ensure every onboarding is completed with high-quality data aligned to Persivia’s Unified Data Model and clinical workflows.

This is a client-facing and cross-functional implementation role.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Validation Across All Sources
• Validate data coming from: EHRs / EMRs, Claims (professional, facility, pharmacy, eligibility, authorizations), HIE feeds (ADT, ORU, CCD, statewide registries), RPM / devices, FHIR APIs, HL7 v2, CCD/C-CDA documents, Any custom extracts (CSV/JSON/XML)
• Validation covers: Schema alignment, Field-level correctness, Coding (ICD/CPT/HCPCS/RxNorm/LOINC/SNOMED), Cross-domain consistency (EHR vs claims vs HIE), Timeliness / completeness, Mapping to Persivia Unified Data Model, Longitudinal patient data accuracy
• Work Directly With the Data Extraction Team
• Guide extraction logic
• Define which EHR/claims/HIE data elements must be extracted.
• Provide mapping requirements and data dictionary rules.
• Explain clinical needs for each field (e.g. labs for quality, claims for HCC).
• Validate outbound extraction from the client-side systems
• Review data pulled by the extraction team.
• Ensure correct filters, date ranges and data domains.
• Spot missing fields, code mismatches or extraction gaps.
• Improve extraction frameworks
• Provide feedback on recurring extraction issues.
• Suggest improvements to extraction templates and logic.
• Coordinate client-side corrections
• Communicate extraction issues to client IT or EHR vendor teams.
• Ensure corrections are applied before data ingestion.
• Align extraction output with ingestion requirements
• Confirm that extracted data is usable for the pipeline and clinical workflows.
• Ensure all housekeeping checks (counts, format checks, schema checks) are done.
• Integration & Onboarding Coordination
• Lead data readiness workstream for every new implementation.
• Coordinate with Client’s IT, EHR vendor or HIE teams, Persivia Data Extraction team, Persivia Platform Engineering team, Clinical teams
• Ensure all data domains are Extracted, Validated, Correctly ingested, Verified in CareSpace, Approved for UAT and production
• Clinical Use Case Verification
• Ensure extracted and ingested data supports Care Management workflows, HCC / Risk Adjustment, HEDIS/CMS/MSH Quality Measures, Alerts & clinical rules, Longitudinal patient record, Population segmentation, QueryPro / analytics, BI dashboards
• Data Mapping & Content Verification
• Review mapping between client source fields and Persivia data model.
• Verify clinical context (LOINC for labs, SNOMED for problems, RxNorm for meds).
• Ensure claims data supports utilization, attribution and measure calculations.
• Validate HIE feeds against EHR and claims data for consistency.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain extraction checklists, mapping sheets and validation logs.
• Prepare data readiness and UAT validation reports.
• Maintain communication logs with extraction teams and clients.
• Continuous Improvement
• Provide structured feedback to Data Extraction, Platform and Clinical teams.
• Identify recurring extraction issues and recommend long-term fixes.
• Help automate validation processes using scripts or templates.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with EHR data, claims files, HIE feeds.
• Strong ability to read and validate CSV, JSON, XML.
• Knowledge of: HL7 v2, CCD/CCDA, FHIR R4, 837/835 claims formats
• Good SQL / Excel proficiency.
• Experience interpreting extraction logs and data samples.
  
  

Healthcare Knowledge

• Familiar with clinical workflows: encounters, labs, medications, vitals.
• Strong understanding of claims workflows: eligibility, authorizations, EOBs.
• Knowledge of population health, quality measures, HCC.
• Understanding of patient identity resolution.
• Familiarity with U.S. and data exchange standards.
