Purpose
The Deputy General Manager (Mechanical) will lead the mechanical maintenance section of a newly commissioned 900MW combined cycle power plant. The role requires experience with heavy duty gas turbines and comprehensive understanding of combined cycle operations. The candidate must ensure the plant's mechanical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards within budgetary limits. To apply the skills and knowledge in order to guide the team to plan and execute maintenance activities as per best industrial practices.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree will be preferred.

Minimum 12 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience with gas turbines is mandatory, experience of managing and maintaining Siemens plant and apparatus will be preferred.

- In depth knowledge of maintenances techniques for maintaining heavy duty gas turbines (preferably Siemens)
- Comprehensive understanding of combined cycle operations
- Familiar with ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-45001 and ISO-55001 management systems
- Practical understanding and knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM and /or similar industrial standards are preferred.
- Strong Understanding of HSEQ, Firefighting, Emergency preparedness and response, First Aid.
- Strong Knowledge RCA (Root Cause Analysis), Hazard identification and Risk Assessment, Aspect and Impact analysis
- Knowledge of Internal audit techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and SAP(or any other CMMS)

- Mechanical Maintenance Management: 30%
- Oversee the mechanical section of the 900MW combined cycle power plant.
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of Siemens gas turbines.
- Monitor and optimize plant performance to achieve plant targets.
- Lead a team of senior and junior engineers along with technicians for execution of all planned/unplanned jobs
- Standards and Compliance: 15%
- Ensure compliance with ISO management systems.
- Maintain practical understanding and application of ASME, API, ASTM, and relevant standards.
- Implement and monitor adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures.
- Procurement and Resource Management: 25%
- Monitor the procurement of spare parts and ensure timely availability.
- Develop and manage time plans and resource requirements for maintenance activities.
- Keep track of departmental activities and ensure alignment with overall plant objectives.
- Team Leadership and Development: 10%
- Lead and manage the mechanical team, providing guidance and support.
- Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Technical Expertise: 10%
- Provide technical expertise and support for mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements.

- Manage internal and external stakeholders, including contractors and statutory bodies.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise with stakeholders.
