Purpose

This position is the key part of the department; this is the position which will liaison and align the 11kV outgoing feeder protection (OCEF) with Downstream (Distribution) protection to ensure the proper coordination. Also, to review the downstream protection performance for selective and timely operation to avoid the nauseous tripping/ Power transformers tripping at entire KE Grid stations

Job Description

• Coordination of Grid End Protection with Downstream:
  
  

To calculate and ensure the implemented OCEF settings are properly coordinated with downstream (distribution end) all 11kV feeders installed at grid ends.

• Coordination of Grid End Protection with Downstream:
  
  

To review and approve the down-stream protection settings and studies of all 1925 feeders.

To ensure that OCEF settings are properly implemented at downstream (At distribution end).

• Fault analysis and Exchange of associated data:
  
  

To perform the root cause analysis of faults and selective operation of downstream and grid end protection of 11kV switches on quarterly basis.

To uncover the grey zones and indiscriminate operation of protection relays at either end in coordination with P&E and associated distribution clusters

• Review of 11kV OCEF relay test reports:
  
  

To review the periodic maintenance test reports OCEF relays at both ends (Grid and Downstream protection).
