Purpose

This position supervises, manages and co-ordinates the Civil Construction Execution of running sites of PID, assist in pre-bid and post bid clarification and evaluation for projects, review of design/drawings as per site conditions and building Bye-Laws; handling of site issues; implementation of KE Standards and controlling of quality through inspections and preparation of check sheets as per contract documents and supporting material; recording and delivering of daily, weekly and monthly site progress, achievements, issues and bottleneck through reports and presentation; co-ordination with internal and external stakeholders for smooth execution of site activities. These responsibilities are carried out WITH the objective to execute projects as per timeline, quality and cost effective manner WITHIN the policies and procedures established by organization, departmental SOPs, HSE guidelines, Construction codes (like BS, ACI, ASTM and AASHTO), industry best practices and guidelines defined by Line Manager and HOD.

Education

BE–Civil

Knowledge

 Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD & Google Earth.

 Adequate command over Project management software like Primavera and MS Project.

 Good knowledge of Safety procedures for High Voltage equipment.

 Ability to prepare Reports / Analysis.

 Good understanding of construction codes like BS/ACI &ASTM, Standards.

 Understanding of structural designing software like ETABs and SAFE.

Experience

Minimum 03 years related civil works experience of Grid Station / Transmission Lines / industrial buildings /Design, Planning & Execution.

Area Of Responsibilities

Project Development and Planning (15%)

 Assist development team in site surveys and data gathering during project feasibility stage.

 Assist line manager in making BOQs for said scope.

 Assist manager in Pre-Bid and Post Bid Clarification and Civil related Technical Evaluation for projects.

 Notify Lesson learned from the ongoing project for incorporation in future projects specification and contract

Project Execution (65%)

 Ensure site investigation are conducted as per desired scope and review of the submitted investigation reports.

 Review of design and drawing as per site condition and facilities.

 Report site constraints and issues.

 Review of method statement and Job Safety Analysis submitted by the contractor.

 Witness TBT conducted by contractor at respective sites.

 Issue Permit after ensuring all safety precautions and documents are undertaken by contractor.

 Closely monitor activities performed by contractor and ensures execution of structures are as per approved design/drawing/layout/datasheets and specs.

 Ensure Quality control through witnessing all on-site tests carried by contractor, inspection through check sheets and review of material data sheets and its compliance in execution.

 Make safety inspections and ensure compliance of HSE Plans at all levels.

 Highlight, manage and resolve site issues, constraints and bottlenecks through site instructions, under guidance of line manager.

 Reports daily, weekly and monthly site progress to line manager.

 Co-ordinate with grid, telecom, SCADA and Transmission team to ensure their requirement are addressed constantly.

 Co-ordinate with LDC and security for work permission and clear access of operation and maintenance teams.

 Co-ordinate with GSM, UGM and TMUG/OH teams to incorporate their requirement and queries.

 Checks and accumulate monthly progress, MTA and TBTs sent by respective region site engr. and submit to corresponding supervisor.

 Provide feedback to line Manager for Measurement sheet and invoices.

 Provide feedback to line Manager for Civil Work punch list and ensure complete closure of punch list.

 Ensure compliance of ISO SOPs, checklist and documents for Yearly Audit

Project Closure (20%)

 Verification of as-Built drawings submitted by contractor.

 Provide site feedback to line manager for DLP monitoring and issuance

 Submission of site maintained drawings, material, check sheets and sample to department store.
