Purpose

Responsibilities

The position serves as a business partner to multiple internal stakeholders across the company with respect to distribution finance function, and is responsible for the following:

(i) Prepare Monthly Performance Report for distribution division for performance monitoring and setting up of targets for the distribution segment

(ii) Provide support in timely filling of monthly Tariff Differential Claims in collaboration with IT, Internal Audit, Regulatory Affairs and Operations

(iii) Deliberate with internal stakeholders and support DGM BF in implementation of changes to tariff in accordance with SROs issued by the GoP from time to time

(iv) Preparation of indirect tax collected summary workings for the purpose of filling

Education

MBA /professional qualification

Knowledge

 Proficient in MS Office

 Data Analytics Tools – QlikView

 Tariff and Billing Procedures

 SAP ISU

Experience

  • Aat least 3 years of experience

Area Of Responsibilities

  • Performance Analysis & Monitoring - 35%

Preparation Of Monthly Performance Management Report For Senior Management And Ensure Circulation By 10th Day Of Each Month. Contents And Objectives Of The Report Are

(i) Highlight performance of distribution segment on various parameters including losses, recovery levels, quality of billing, etc. for all IBCs and PSC division

(ii) Includes detailed segment wise reporting which involves financial modeling, data gathering, analysis and presentation of company performance.

(iii) Performance evaluation is used as basis for scorecards of the distribution segment

(iv) Helps IBCs and distribution to derive their strategies to reduce losses and improve their recoveries, and other operational improvements

(v) Reporting of certain distribution performance metrics to NEPRA

  • Filling Subsidy Claims and Taxes Workings - 30% Filing of Tariff Differential Claims
  • Timely preparation of Tariff Differential Claims and other subsidies given to consumers on behalf of the Government of Pakistan / Government of Balochistan.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Affairs department and IT for verification of subsidy claims, any changes required or addressing any queries raised by Ministry with respect to claims filed
  • Coordinate with Internal Audit for review of subsidy claims before filling of the claim with GoP and GoB

Preparation of Tax & Other Workings

  • Preparation of comprehensive sales and income working against collection and billing. The payments need to be made to FBR on recovery of taxes by mid of the month, and any delay may lead to notice being served and at times chances of penalty being imposed as fine for late submission of taxes collected.
  • Preparation of working for amount recovered against TVL fees and ensuring timely submission to PTV on monthly basis.
  • Implementation of Tariff - 20%
  • Discuss with Regulatory Affairs department to understand any changes notified by the GoP to consumer-end tariff or any special packages announced by GoP impacting the consumer-end tariff for any particular consumer segment
  • Provide support to DGM in effective coordination with IT for implementation of changes to tariff regime
  • To conduct UAT of changes made in billing engine to give effect to changes in tariff regime to ensure that no discrepancies occur when billing goes live with new tariffs.
  • Special Projects and Ad Hoc Analysis - 10%
  • Preparation of ad hoc analysis for NEPRA as and when required by the regulator.
  • Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives being taken in the Company in the distribution segment
  • Supporting senior management and department heads with in-depth analysis on new projects aimed at improving the performance of distribution segment
  • People Development - 5% Constant mentoring and development of direct reports to enhance their skill set
