Job Description
- This position is responsible in ensuring the efficient operation of the hotel property and all its equipment, ancillary maintenance and repair services and protection of the Owner's asset.
- Structural aspects of the hotel as well as the maintenance of grounds and external facilities fall within the span of responsibility of the Director Of Engineering.
- Financial acumen is key as you assist in controlling expenditure and managing CAPEX projects. Your strategic oversight will be crucial in selecting suppliers, tracking project completion, and ensuring cost-effective operations. As a vital link between the engineering department and the broader hotel team, you will drive efficiency, maintain high standards, and ensure every detail contributes to an exceptional guest experience.
- Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior engineering operations position or 2-3 years of experience in a similar capacity
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the hotel industry
- Relevant trade qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical services are advantageous
- Comprehensive understanding of fire safety systems and protocols
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Exceptional communicator with experience managing maintenance functions in large-scale operations
- Ability to perform emergency maintenance outside regular working hours
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, financial reporting, and inventory management
