Position: Electrical Cost Estimator
Job Type: Remote
Shift: Night Shift Only
As an electrical cost estimator, you will analyze project requirements and prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems in construction or engineering projects. This involves reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and calculate material, labor, and time costs. You will also collaborate with construction and engineering teams, manage estimating projects, and ensure accurate cost forecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing project documents: Analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to understand the scope of work for electrical systems.
Developing cost estimates: Calculating material, labor, and time costs for electrical installations.
Collaborating with teams: Working with construction and engineering teams to ensure accurate estimates and project coordination.
Managing estimating projects: Overseeing the estimating process from preliminary to final stages.
Staying updated: Keeping current with industry trends, pricing changes, and software tools.
Preparing and presenting estimates: Creating and presenting detailed cost estimates to clients, providing explanations and justifications.
Tracking project costs: Monitoring actual project costs against estimates and making adjustments as needed.
Negotiating with vendors: Obtaining pricing and availability information from suppliers and vendors.
Utilizing software: Employing specialized software for cost estimation, such as AutoCAD, PlanSwift and other estimating programs.
Required Skills:
3+ years of experience in estimating, project coordination, or field work in the trades.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (preferred).
Proficient in English Language.
Attention to detail: Accuracy in cost estimation is crucial for project success.
Communication and interpersonal skills: Effective communication is needed to collaborate with teams, present estimates, and negotiate with vendors.
Time management and organizational skills: Meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Adaptability and flexibility: Ability to adjust to changing project requirements and unforeseen circumstances.
Technical knowledge: Understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation processes.
Software proficiency: Familiarity with relevant software tools for cost estimation such as proficiency in using PlanSwift, Primavera P6, Blue Beam software etc.
